Richard Cascarino, CIA, CISM, CFE, CRMA is a consultant and lecturer with over 28 years experience in IT Risk, Audit, Governance, Forensic, Internal and IT auditing education and author of the books Internal Auditing-an Integrated Approach, Auditor’s Guide to IT Auditing, Corporate Fraud and Internal Control and the forthcoming book Internal Auditor's Guide to Data Analytics. He is also a contributing author to the Governance section of Finance: The Ultimate Resource and is a frequent speaker at IIA and ISACA courses and conferences.

He is a Past President of the IIA – South Africa and founded the African Region of the IIA Inc.

The IDEA Series is a series of 12 x 2-hour webinars.

Who should attend

The series is aimed primarily at auditors, both internal and external, who are beginning their career in Computer Auditing or who wish to understand how to use IDEA. The series builds rapidly to shorten the time period to productivity and effectiveness.

CPE Credit Policy:

 

Participation and attendance reporting is the basis for determining whether Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits will be issued for participation in AuditNet® webinars.

Pursuant to National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) rules, AuditNet® is required to maintain records showing an individual’s attendance and participation in an online webinar. During the presentation, periodic online questions and answers will be used to assess continuous participation and to evaluate the program's effectiveness.

Participation and Attendance Reporting Requirements:

Registration is on a per-person basis. To qualify for CPE credit, you must be registered for the webinar as an individual and login individually, except as provided below for participants attending in a conference setting.

In some cases the only source of data is an already printed report of an electronic version of such a report. This course covers the importation of such data into an analyzable form.

  7. Using Statistics in IDEA July 8 2016

 The power of IDEA lies in the ability to interrogate large volumes of data. In some cases, the computer is used only to narrow the field of records the auditor may wish to perform more detailed testing upon. Under these circumstances, the auditor may choose to use statistical sampling techniques.
